Peat swamp forest as the natural habitat that provides an ecosystem for Orangutan and many other endemic species in both Kalimantan and Sumatra has always been a primary target of deforestation that often uses the technique of 'forest fire'.
This artwork is a data visualization of Indonesian peat swamp forest vegetation, specifically in Central Kalimantan (Borneo) region, which consists of tens or even hundreds of endemic species that often no longer capable of growing back after a forest fire, thus eliminating the possibility of 'ideal homes' available for Orangutan and many other species to exist in their natural habitat.
